Viewers claim a Google Gemini logo watermark briefly appeared in one frame of the trailer.

Viewers spot a Google Gemini watermark in Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan trailer, triggering online backlash and AI-use criticism.

Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan has sparked an online controversy after viewers noticed an unexpected detail in its recently released trailer.

Social media users claim a Google Gemini watermark briefly appeared in one frame, leading to criticism over the alleged use of AI-generated visuals in the film’s promotional material.

Google Gemini Logo Allegedly Seen in Trailer

The trailer of Jana Nayagan, released on Saturday, came under scrutiny after sharp-eyed viewers spotted what appeared to be a Google Gemini logo in a quick frame.

The moment reportedly occurs right after a shot showing a character cocking a shotgun. Although the logo is no longer visible in the current version of the trailer, screen recordings of the frame have circulated widely online.

Social Media Backlash Over AI Usage

Following the discovery, several users on X (formerly Twitter) accused the makers of using AI-generated visuals without properly removing watermarks.

Some users criticised the alleged lapse as careless, while others questioned the growing use of AI tools in mainstream cinema. Trolls on social media described the incident as “an insult to cinema,” intensifying the backlash.

Viral Post Highlights Budget and Editing Error

One viral post drew attention to the film’s reported large-scale production and the mistake spotted by viewers.

The user wrote that the controversy erupted after fans noticed the Google Gemini logo in the trailer and pointed out that the scene was later edited out. However, by then, screenshots and recordings had already gone viral.

The post also questioned whether the use of AI in film trailers reflects innovation or poor execution.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is positioned as a mass action entertainer with a strong political backdrop. The film is notable as Thalapathy Vijay’s final project before stepping away from acting.

The cast includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and Narain.

Release Date and Box Office Clash

Jana Nayagan is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9.

The film is expected to face box office competition from Prabhas’ The Raja Saab and Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi, both slated to release on January 10.
